Fuel–air mixture.
Corrected across the rev and load range, so the engine stops running lean where it was leaned out for emissions averaging.

Authorized Dealer — DCF-Performance
Iron Custom Motors is the official DCF-Performance dealer for Portugal — the only one in the country. Dyno-developed tuning files for most fuel-injected motorcycles, read and written in our Cascais workshop, with the original map kept and a written estimate before anything is changed.
ECU tuning
Iron Custom Motors is the official DCF-Performance dealer in Portugal — today the only one on their dealer list. DCF-Performance is a Dutch group whose engine-software work goes back to 2008: its file platform, Dyno-ChiptuningFiles.com, has been live since 2010, serves tuners in more than 160 countries and carries over 500,000 dyno-tested ECU files for more than 300 engine control units. Every motorcycle file is built by their EFI engineers and tested on their dynamometers before it reaches us. You can find us as Iron Custom Motors on the DCF-Performance dealer list.
What the dealership means for you: the file is not downloaded from a forum and not copied from another bike. It is written for your motorcycle's exact software version, by engineers who answer our questions, and it is applied by a workshop that checks the bike mechanically before anyone touches the electronics.
We do the reading, the writing, the test ride and the data logs here in São Domingos de Rana, Cascais — for riders from Lisbon, Estoril, Oeiras, Sintra and anywhere in Portugal who want the job done once and done properly.
What a tune changes
A modern motorcycle leaves the factory with software written for every market at once: for the worst fuel it may meet, for every emissions standard it has to pass. The result is often a lean mixture at small throttle openings, a flat spot where the engine should pull, a throttle that opens less than your hand asks, and heat the engine does not need. An ECU remap rewrites those tables within the limits the engine was built for.
Corrected across the rev and load range, so the engine stops running lean where it was leaned out for emissions averaging.
Adjusted to the fuel you actually use and to the way the engine breathes after an exhaust or filter change.
On ride-by-wire bikes, the relationship between your hand and the throttle valves — less lag, less dead travel, no surging at steady speed.
Factory limits that exist for a market, not for the engine, are set where they belong for your bike.
The source of the popping and the jerk on a closed throttle; tuned for smoothness on a road bike — or for character on a track bike, within the legality note below.
The cooling fan can come in earlier on a bike that spends its life in Lisbon traffic.
Adjusted or removed for track and competition use. Road legality depends on the modification — we go through it in the first conversation.
What we offer
The file for a standard motorcycle: mixture, ignition, throttle and limiters corrected, nothing bolted on. Usually the starting point, and the change riders notice most.
For bikes with a free-flow exhaust, a sport air filter or both: the map is built around the parts you have fitted, so the engine runs right instead of merely louder.
Surging, hesitation at low throttle and a snatchy on–off transition are software problems more often than mechanical ones.
Adjusted to the engine and to the use of the bike — on the road within what the law allows, on the track as the rider needs; we go through it in the first conversation.
Overrun fuelling tuned for the sound and character of a track or competition bike. Road legality depends on the modification and the country — we go through it in the first conversation.
For motorcycles running a decat or a race exhaust in competition or closed-course use: the ECU stops hunting for a sensor that is no longer there. Road legality depends on the modification and the country — we go through it in the first conversation.
Earlier fan cut-in, a softer deceleration fuel cut, the settings that make a daily bike nicer.
The original file is saved before the first write and archived with the job; the bike can go back to stock whenever you want — before a dealer visit, before a sale.
How it works
Model, year, what is fitted, what bothers you. We check with DCF that your exact ECU and software version are covered before promising anything.
A tune does not fix a mechanical fault. Plugs, air filter, valve clearances if due, fault codes, fuel pressure where it matters — checked before the file is ordered. Fault diagnostics 50–350 € when the cause of a problem is unclear.
Through the diagnostic socket where the ECU allows it, on the bench where it does not. The untouched original file is saved first and stays with your job.
DCF's engineers build the calibration for your software version and test it on their dynamometers; the file itself usually comes back from DCF within minutes — the time in a tuning job goes into the read, the ride and the logs, not into waiting.
The file is written to the ECU, the bike is warmed up and checked for fault codes, then ridden with data logging — mixture, temperatures, throttle behaviour where you actually ride.
You get the bike, a note of what was changed, and the knowledge that the original map is archived here.
Official dealer
Built for the exact software version read from your ECU, dyno-tested by DCF's engineers — not a generic file sold by the megabyte.
As a dealer we have direct support from DCF's EFI engineers; if a log shows something we do not like, the file is revised, not explained away.
The original map is archived before the first write. Back to standard is always one visit away.
The same workshop that services the engine applies the software, so a tired lambda sensor, a weak fuel pump or a blocked filter is found before it is blamed on the map.
Before you decide
A tune changes the software a manufacturer wrote, so the manufacturer's warranty on engine and electronics may be affected while the file is active — ask us about your bike and its warranty status before, not after.
Road legality depends on what is changed: a Stage 1 map and a decat map are not the same thing in the eyes of an inspection or an insurer. We go through it in the first conversation, before the plan.
A remap sharpens an engine that is healthy. If the bike has a mechanical problem, the tune waits until the problem is fixed — that order is not negotiable here.
We do not quote horsepower on this page. Every engine, exhaust and fuel is different; what you get is a bike that runs cleanly across the range, measured in the logs and on the test ride, and explained to you at handover.
Which motorcycles
DCF-Performance publishes files for BMW Motorrad, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati, Kawasaki, KTM, Triumph and Suzuki among others — sport, naked, adventure and cruiser models, with coverage for nearly every motorcycle brand checked per ECU. Send us the model and year; we confirm coverage with DCF before we book. Workshop pages for the brands we see most: BMW, Ducati, Honda, Suzuki, Triumph. Harley-Davidson Stage upgrades have their own tools and their own page: Harley-Davidson tuning.

official dealers; one in Portugal: Iron Custom Motors
Yes. Iron Custom Motors is listed by DCF-Performance as its dealer for Portugal — the only one in the country at the time of writing. The listing, with our address and hours, is on DCF's own dealer page.
Most fuel-injected motorcycles from the brands DCF covers — BMW Motorrad, Yamaha, Honda, Ducati, Kawasaki, KTM, Triumph, Suzuki and others. Coverage is confirmed per ECU and software version before we book, so send the model and year first. Harley-Davidson Stage work has its own page.
It depends on the motorcycle, the ECU, the stage and whether the ECU can be read through the socket or has to come out. You get a written estimate before anything is ordered; fault diagnostics, when needed first, are 50–350 €.
The file itself usually arrives from DCF within minutes. The time goes into the mechanical check, the read, the test ride and the logs — we give you a date when we book, not a promise on a web page.
Yes. The original file is saved before the first write and archived with your job. Returning to stock is a workshop visit, not a problem.
It depends on what is changed: a Stage 1 file and a decat map are different cases for inspections and insurers, and a manufacturer may treat warranty claims differently while a tune is active. We go through both points in the first conversation, before the plan — not after.
