Suzuki service
in Cascais.

Independent Suzuki workshop — diagnostics, scheduled service, valve clearance, charging-system repair, suspension and tuning for GSX-R, GSX-S, V-Strom, SV650, Hayabusa, Katana, Bandit, Boulevard and DR-Z.

Why bring your Suzuki to us

Japanese engineering, independent rates.

Iron Custom Motors is an independent Suzuki specialist in Cascais. Suzuki builds some of the most honest, hard-working engines on the road — the GSX-R inline-fours, the SV650 and V-Strom V-twins, the Hayabusa — but honest engineering still needs people who understand it properly. That's what we are: a Suzuki-first workshop, not a generic multi-brand shop that also takes Suzukis.

The engineering culture here didn't come from nowhere. This is the team behind AMD World Championship custom builds, a Bonneville land-speed record, and the BMW Motorrad Customizing Championship 2023. We don't list that to impress you with trophies — we list it because that same standard of measurement, tolerance and finish is what now goes into a routine GSX-R valve check or a high-mileage V-Strom charging repair.

Independent means no dealer mark-up, freedom to fit OEM or quality aftermarket parts as the job actually requires, and direct communication with the person doing the work. Written estimate before anything happens, written report after.

Specialist tooling

Suzuki-specific diagnostic and tools.

Dealer-grade Suzuki diagnostics and the model-specific tooling that most independent workshops simply don't keep. This is the difference between a real Suzuki shop and a workshop that happens to take Suzukis.

SDS — Suzuki Diagnostic System (or equivalent)

Reads and clears Suzuki-specific fault codes, monitors live sensor data, runs ISC / throttle-body resets and checks the charging system under load.

Throttle-body synchronisation

Mercury-column and digital sync for inline-four GSX-R / GSX-S / Bandit / Hayabusa and the SV650 / V-Strom V-twins — smooth idle, clean fuelling.

Charging-system load testing

Dedicated testing of the stator and regulator/rectifier under real load — the single most important check on any high-mileage Suzuki.

Suspension service tooling

Fork seal, cartridge and shock service for GSX-R sport, V-Strom adventure and SV650 street geometry — sag setup and damping done properly.

What we do on Suzuki

From a routine oil-and-filter to a full charging-system rebuild or a track-prepped GSX-R — all of it done with Suzuki-specific knowledge.

Typical issues we know

Suzuki failure patterns, checked before they bite.

Years of Suzuki service mean we know where these bikes get tired. We check the high-risk items proactively — not after they leave you stranded on the way to Sintra.

Regulator/rectifier failure

the famous Suzuki weak point across GSX-R, SV650 and V-Strom generations. We load-test it before it cooks the battery and stator, and upgrade to a better-cooled unit where it makes sense.

Stator and charging wear on high-mileage bikes

caught with a proper load test, not a guess at the battery. We measure output cold and hot before it leaves you stranded.

Cam chain tensioner wear

a known rattle on certain Suzuki models. We diagnose it correctly instead of chasing the noise around the engine.

Fuel pump and ISC issues

hot-start hesitation and idle hunting on injected models. We test the pump and reset the ISC properly via diagnostics.

Clutch wear and drag

basket and plate inspection measured against spec, not by feel — especially on hard-ridden GSX-R and high-mileage V-Strom.

FAQ

Common questions. (FAQ)

Are you an authorised Suzuki dealer?
No — Iron Custom Motors is an independent Suzuki workshop. The advantage is no dealer mark-up and freedom to use OEM or quality aftermarket parts. Recall and warranty work itself must go through an authorised Suzuki dealer, but everything else — scheduled service, repair, charging-system work, modifications — we handle at independent rates and with deeper, Suzuki-first attention.
How much does a Suzuki service cost?
Scheduled maintenance starts from €150, consumables included (air-filter replacement is charged separately). Valve-clearance check is from €250 for a V-twin (SV650 / V-Strom) and €400 for an inline-four (GSX-R / Bandit / Hayabusa); check-and-adjust from €300 (twin) and €650 (four). Hourly work is €50/hour. You always get a written estimate before any work starts. Prices from, taxes included.
Can you tune my GSX-R or fit a full exhaust?
Yes — we install slip-on or full systems (Yoshimura, Akrapovič) with the corresponding fuelling correction, plus suspension and ergonomics for street or track. Dyno-verified where the build calls for it.
Do you work on older or classic Suzuki?
Yes — air-cooled Bandits, older GSX-R, DR singles and classic Intruders are welcome. Carburettor clean and balance, charging-system rebuild and electrical repair are exactly the kind of work we enjoy.
Can you import OEM Suzuki parts to Portugal?
Yes — we have catalog access to OEM Suzuki parts via the distributor network plus all the major aftermarket catalogs. If a part exists for your model, we source it to Cascais.
My charging warning light came on — is that serious?
On a Suzuki, it usually points at the regulator/rectifier or stator — a well-known weak point on the brand. Don't keep riding it: a failing reg/rec can take the battery and stator with it. Bring it in, we'll load-test the whole charging system and tell you exactly what's needed in writing.
