Motorcycle upgrades and tuning in Cascais: suspension, brakes, lighting, touring, ECU

Iron Custom Motors plans, sources and fits motorcycle upgrades in São Domingos de Rana, Cascais — suspension, brakes, lighting, protection, touring and comfort kit, and tuning parts including ECU maps. Upgrades are chosen for how you actually ride, not for how a part looks in a list, and every plan comes with a written estimate before anything is ordered. Rated 5.0 on Google. Message us on WhatsApp — we reply during working hours, Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00.

01 · What we upgrade

Ten areas, one rule: each change has to make sense for your riding, your routes and your budget. Parts and accessories are priced in the written quote; labour is 50 €/hour.

1. Parts installation. Professional fitment of parts you bring or we source.

2. Accessories. Mirrors, mounts, levers, grips, screens, seats.

3. Lighting. LED conversions, fog lights, conspicuity and daytime visibility.

4. Protection. Crash bars, sliders, sump guards, hand guards, frame protectors.

5. Touring and comfort. Panniers, top boxes, taller screens, comfort seats, heated grips.

6. Functional custom. One-off comfort or ergonomic solutions built around your fit.

7. Tuning parts. ECU maps, intake, exhaust, fuel control, throttle response — matched to each other, not bolted on one by one.

8. Performance upgrades. Engine and ride-quality improvements within reasonable scope; we say what's worth it on your bike and what isn't.

9. Suspension. Premium fork cartridges and shocks, sag and damping set for your weight and your riding. Fork seals from 150 €.

10. Brake upgrades. Callipers, master cylinders, lines, pads — race-grade or touring-tuned. Brake fluid change 100 € (non-ABS) or from 150 € (ABS).

Tyres: motorcycle tyre fitting and balancing, labour from 40 € per wheel.

02 · How a plan starts

1. Conversation. Tell us how you ride, where, and what bothers you about the bike now.

2. Plan. We come back with a meaningful upgrade plan, not a parts list — and a written estimate.

3. Sourcing. Parts and accessories ordered through verified channels; OEM and aftermarket where both exist.

4. Fitting and setup. Fitment, alignment, calibration, tuning where applicable.

5. Test and adjust. Ridden, checked and adjusted until it feels right. Then we show you what changed.

03 · Why Iron Custom Motors

Chosen for how you ride. We install what makes the bike better for the way you use it, and we tell you when a change isn't worth your money.

A plan, not a parts list. Suspension, brakes, lighting, luggage and ergonomics affect each other. We look at the whole bike before recommending the first part.

Sourcing, fitting and setup under one roof. Parts, installation, calibration and the test ride — one team, one written estimate, labour at 50 €/hour.

Championship pedigree. AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building winner, BMW Motorrad Customizing Championship 2023, Bonneville Speed Week world record 2017. That engineering culture is what goes into a suspension setup or a brake upgrade here. The bikes are on permanent display next to the rider lounge.

04 · Between service and custom

Most riders don't need a full custom build. They need a thoughtful set of improvements — suspension, brakes, lighting, protection, luggage, comfort — done properly on the bike they already own. That's this page. If the bike simply needs looking after, start with motorcycle service and repair. If you want a one-off built from the ground up, that's a whole project: see custom motorcycles. And Harley-Davidson Stage upgrades and dyno work have their own page: Harley-Davidson tuning.

05 · Serving Cascais, Estoril, Oeiras & Greater Lisbon

We're in São Domingos de Rana, Cascais municipality, Greater Lisbon — a short ride from Estoril, Carcavelos, Parede, Oeiras, Sintra and Lisbon. Come by to talk through a plan; the lounge and the championship bikes are right there.

FAQ

How much does an upgrade cost?

There are no fixed packages, because no two bikes or riders want the same thing. Parts and accessories are priced in a written quote; labour is 50 €/hour, and you approve the estimate before anything is ordered or fitted.

Do you do ECU remaps?

Yes. Tuning parts include ECU maps, intake, exhaust and fuel control, set up to work together on your bike. The aim is fuelling and throttle response that suit the intake, the exhaust and the way you ride — we go through what's realistic on your bike before anything is ordered.

Will you fit parts I bring?

Yes. We fit parts you've bought elsewhere at 50 €/hour, estimated in writing. Fitment is checked first; if something doesn't match your bike, you hear it before we start.

Do modifications need to be homologated?

That depends on the modification and the bike. It's one of the things we go through in the first conversation, before the plan is drawn up and before anything is ordered — so you know where you stand.

Do you tune Harley-Davidsons?

Yes. Stage upgrades and dyno work have their own page: Harley-Davidson tuning. Everything else on this page — suspension, brakes, lighting, touring kit — applies to Harleys too.
