The story

Sturmvogel — the project.

Sturmvogel was conceived as more than just a custom motorcycle. It was a complete visual and mechanical statement inspired by dieselpunk culture — a style that combines industrial atmosphere, retro-futuristic imagination, raw mechanics and a sense of engineered drama. For Iron Custom Motors, Sturmvogel became one of the defining expressions of the studio's early international language.

The project achieved significant competitive recognition: 3rd place at the Italian Motorcycle Championship 2014 in the Freestyle class, followed by 4th place at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building 2014 in the Street Performance class. Later, it received the Best Custom title at Crazy Harley Party 2015 in Ukraine.

In 2026, Sturmvogel added a new Portuguese result to that history: 2nd place in the Café Racer category at Ericeira Kustom Fest 2026. The award matters because it shows the project still speaks clearly on a new scene, years after its first international appearances.

The identity of Sturmvogel is deeply tied to mood. The dieselpunk influence suggests a world of exposed mechanics, industrial textures, retro-futuristic imagination and a certain dark romanticism of engineered machines. It is one of the clearest examples of how Iron Custom Motors works with narrative through metal — the project is not only about function or performance, but also about atmosphere, presence and the emotional impact of a fully authored machine.

Many custom motorcycles are remembered for a season. Sturmvogel has lasted as a reference because it carries a clear worldview — built not around trends, but around a complete internal logic, visual, emotional and mechanical.
