A custom culture weekend on the Atlantic coast
Ericeira Kustom Fest is one of the most atmospheric custom culture events on the Portuguese coast. The 2026 edition ran from June 5 to 7 at Ericeira Camping and brought together custom motorcycles, classic cars, live music, food, open-air gatherings and the kind of old-school mechanical culture that makes a show feel alive.
The official name is Ericeira Kustom Fest, even if people sometimes say Ericeira Custom Fest in conversation. For the motorcycle scene around Cascais, Lisbon and the Atlantic coast, it is exactly the kind of event where builders, riders, collectors and curious visitors can meet without a wall between the bikes and the people who build them.
Our first major competitive show in Portugal
For Iron Custom Motors, this festival carried special weight. It was our first major competitive custom event in Portugal after opening the new workshop in Cascais. We came not only to display motorcycles, but to participate as builders with our own stand, our own machines and our own story.
At the show we presented two very different projects from our portfolio: Hell Boy, a dark comic-art trike built around visual drama, and Sturmvogel, one of the defining motorcycles in the Iron Custom Motors history. Together they showed two sides of the same workshop culture: strong storytelling and serious custom engineering.
From Kharkiv history to a Portuguese chapter
Iron Custom Motors began in Kharkiv in 2010. Over the years the workshop grew from a disciplined engineering space into an internationally recognized custom brand, earning titles on the world stage, a Bonneville speed record and official BMW Motorrad recognition.
That history matters because Ericeira was not just a weekend appearance. It was the moment when our past experience, our current custom and special projects work and our new base in Portugal met in public. We did not arrive as a logo on a tent. We arrived with motorcycles that already carry years of work behind them.
The award results
Hell Boy — 1st place, Best Paint.
Sturmvogel — 2nd place, Café Racer category.
Those results are important because they came at the first major custom competition where Iron Custom Motors entered as a workshop already working locally in Portugal. It is one thing to bring history with you. It is another thing to earn new recognition in the place where the next chapter is being built.
Hell Boy: 1st place in Best Paint
Hell Boy is one of the darkest, most theatrical and most visually aggressive machines Iron Custom Motors has built. Its comic-inspired airbrush concept, chrome skull mascot, massive rear end and low presence make it a motorcycle designed to own space and stay in memory.
Winning Best Paint at Ericeira confirmed exactly what the project has always stood for: a custom motorcycle can be graphic, provocative and unforgettable while still carrying serious build quality under the surface.
Sturmvogel: 2nd place in Café Racer
Sturmvogel is a very different kind of statement. Built with a dieselpunk mood and deep international recognition behind it, the project has long been one of the strongest references in our history.
Taking 2nd place in the Café Racer category in Portugal means a lot to us. It shows that a strong custom motorcycle keeps speaking even when it enters a new country, a new audience and a new competitive scene.
Why this matters for Portugal
Portugal is exactly where we wanted to continue this story: strong riding culture, a long season, beautiful roads and a growing custom and enthusiast scene. Ericeira, with its Atlantic atmosphere and open-air energy, felt like the right place for one of our first major appearances on the local custom map.
The trophies are not the whole point. What matters is the connection between builders, riders, machines and the people who keep motorcycle culture alive. This is also why we are building the Iron Custom Motors community in Cascais around the workshop, the lounge, coffee, conversation and real motorcycles.
