What the project is
A first-year V-Rod on the running gear of a 2012 model — fork, swingarm, wheels, offset hub, 240 at the back and 120/70 R19 at the front. We took it apart completely, painted every paintable part, adapted and fitted the lower body kit with new mesh, re-upholstered the seat in Alcantara and carbon-pattern leather, and put it back together with Kellermann lights, Galfer wave discs, braided lines, new Metzeler Cruisetec tyres, taller risers and bar-end mirrors.
Underneath the paint it received the full service a twenty-year-old Revolution engine deserves: valve clearances, a new clutch, rebuild kits in the calipers and master cylinders, wheel and steering-head bearings, fork service, oil, filters and coolant. The whole story, section by section, is on the project page: Spaniard.
Why we show the service, not only the paint
Most custom pages show the surface. We decided to list the mechanical work in the same detail as the bodywork, because that is what a rebuild at Iron Custom Motors means: the bike has to ride as well as it looks, and the owner has to know exactly what was done. That is the same principle as our written estimate before any job — custom or regular service.
Where it sits among our builds
Spaniard joins the projects section next to the championship machines built in our Kharkiv years and the work done since the workshop moved to Cascais. For Harley riders it is also a practical reference: the same hands do Harley-Davidson service every day, and the same approach — teardown, honest parts list, written estimate — applies to a 17-point service as much as to a full rebuild. See also our Harley custom page.
If you have a project in mind
A rebuild like this starts with a conversation and a look at the bike. The consultation is free and happens at the workshop in São Domingos de Rana, Cascais; what we do, how we work and what a project involves is explained on the custom builds page. Contact us or write on WhatsApp: +351 917 961 230.
